Amphibic are set for their second release on Haldern Pop Recordings.
The release of our mini album, ‘THERE WERE MILLIONS OF THEM’, has been postponed to the middle of September!!!
It contains six gorgeous songs that were recorded at Toneform-Studios Germany, as well as at Graceland and 54 Chippenham in London (the latter being Neal’s old place where a lot of the production was done).
A German tour is being prepared as we speak and the band is continuing to record stuff for the next album.
2006 saw the arrival of Joakim Persson on bass guitar, who added an interesting pop sensibility and his very own understated Swedish enthusiasm to proceedings. This fact means that the rhythm section has gone completely Scandinavian, with Sebastian Sternberg from Denmark on drums.
The Amphibic sound has become faster, more electric and the songs are more direct and edgy as Amphibic are digging into their vast collection of tube amps and are willingly using organs, synths, pianos and any other sound necessary to achieve their aims (including scratched trousers, choirs, falling chains of steel and hissing water kettles).
Following the debut album’s release the band graced the main stage at Haldern Pop in 2004 sharing the bill with the likes of Keane, Starsailor, Paul Weller and the Divine Comedy.
The Divine Comedy even borrowed Celine for their orchestra that night.
BFBS radio has already started playing some of the songs.
More soon!!! In the meantime there is: MYSPACE
